Hazards: Uncontrolled pressure release.
Cold burns.
Impact/falling.
Asphyxiation (in confined spaces).
Manual handling.


Persons at risk:

Employees (including casual workers) and members of the public.

Control measures in place:

Cylinders hired (periodic inspection/examination is by hire company).
Staff trained in connection/disconnection (condition checked prior to connection).
Eye protection/gloves provided (signs posted).
Secured in upright position in designated areas.
Customer use prohibited.
Used in open air.

Manual Handling:

Reduced cylinder size used/introduced.
Delivered to site.
2 persons to lift cylinders.
Operatives instructed in lifting technique.
Distance carried limited (otherwise vehicle used).
Trolley used in warehouse for moving.
Supervisors to monitor and maintain controls/measures.
