Hazards: Slipping/tripping (more relevant to designated paths and man-made elements).
Impact (for example with projecting sharp branches).
Falling objects (poorly maintained/secured barricades).
Electricity (poor wiring/poorly maintained wiring).
Fire (BBQs, smoke grenades) – see separate specific assessment.
Gas under pressure (CO2) – see separate specific assessment.
Paintball markers – see separate specific assessment.
Drowning.

Persons at risk:

Employees (including casual workers), customers and members of the public.

Control measures in place:

Provide duck boards where required and remove, where practical to do so, as many natural hazards as possible. Level major pathways.
Remove, where practical, branches below 1.5m, particularly in areas of coniferous forest in major use areas.
Barricades to be securely constructed (capable of withstanding an adult male climbing over). Regular inspections by all marshals before, during and after use. No constructions to be higher than 3m.
Any damaged or vandalised constructions to be taken out of play and marked with hazard tape until repaired.
All areas are clearly defined and 50m from any public areas.
Full instruction on game rules (see attached sheet)
Trained staff provided at a ratio of 1-10.
All activities fully supervised.
First aid equipment and first aiders provided.
Emergency procedures in place.
Hazard checklist for monitoring and maintaining controls.
BBQ inspected weekly, serviced annually by the manufacturer.
Training in use of BBQ given.
All areas of water are marked and if deemed dangerous are made out of bounds.
All paintball markers regularly maintained (see separate sheet).


Control measures required:

Game managers and all staff to monitor and maintain existing controls.
All game managers to have quarterly meeting with the Site Owners for refresher training and control measures and risk assessment.
