EDITOR’S BIT Hey guys, welcome back after your much needed Christmas and New Year’s breaks. I hope Santa brought you everything on your list…? If not, there is always next year! An interesting break for us here at NRG Paintball. People were jet setting all around the globe during the three weeks we were closed. The Partners all went to Switzerland for some skiing and boarding while I went to Canada and got my first look at snow!! We would like to thank everyone for sending us your letters and articles to put into future editions of ‘The Blag’. Just a gentle reminder, if you have something that you feel like mentioning, please let us know and we might be able to help you out with a mention in ‘the Blag’! While everyone was away, we were busy looking at other sites around the world in an effort to source some new ideas that we could bring back to NRG Paintball. After a successful couple of weeks, we arrived back and hit the ground running! There will be a lot of activity around NRG Paintball, especially in the lead up to summer. Hopefully, you will enjoy all the new improvements we’ve made… WELCOME TO THE TEAM!! Since the break, two members of our crew have climbed the ranks at NRG. Both started up on site and have steadily climbed the company ladder. I would like to say a big thanks and welcome to Lisa and Russell. Lisa started up on Site about 6 months ago primarily as a point-of-sale Administrator. She quickly grasped what was needed and even went on to tackle some marshalling on the field. You may have found Lisa at the other end of the phone when you rang on the weekends. As well as her site work, Lisa is now undertaking office duties as well. She has just recently been appointed to the much heralded ‘Studio’ offices at NRG. Hopefully she will find time to still be on site occasionally. Being her usual bouncy self. I’m sure if nothing else, that she will pop in just to see how things are doing and to say hi to everyone. As well as Lisa stepping up, so has a bloke that has been around NRG about the same length of time. I want to say congratulations to Russell on his recent appointment as Assistant Manager at NRG Paintball. Russell has gone from strength to strength since starting with us and naturally, he has taken the next step. You will find Russell up on site nearly every weekend and the occasional mid-week game as well. Russell comes from a strong Paintballing background having played the sport for more than 10 years and having managed his own site previously as well. You will see Russell up on site running game days reasonably frequently allowing Jase to get out and about a little more to visit other sites and tournaments. WHERE’S MEKONG VILLAGE? Regulars to the site keep asking… ‘When’s the Village going to be finished?’ To which we reply… ‘Soon’. The simple answer is that it takes a little time to build an entire village so we ask that you guys be patient because it’s coming….SOON! We have 6 buildings up already and we are hoping to build another 14 or so buildings by the end of February. The buildings range from single, double and triple rooms. They also range from one, two and three levels high. As well as this, the village will have a whole heap of bunkers and sniper points. Plus it will have three turret mounted, rapid fire guns, a hostage cage and an observation tower!! There will be so much to do in the Village that you could quite easily play the whole day in there! If you just can’t wait for the Mekong Village to be built to see what it looks like, keep your eyes on the internet for Mekong updates. Go to the ‘site map’ page and click on the village. There you will find some photos of the Village as it is being built. Attention: Promotions Staff!! At the moment, NRG Paintball is currently advertising for Promotional Staff to help increase the amount of players to the site. What we are looking for are young, fit and active individuals that have an interest in paintball and enjoy getting out there and meeting people. We are conducting interviews on the 17th of February so if this sounds like something that you may be interested in, please call the office before that date on 01959 563 947 and have a chat to Mel or Jase.

VOUCHER BOOKLETS We described the voucher booklets in the last issue of The Blag. If you didn’t read it you can download a copy from our website. The Voucher Booklets will be available primarily from the Promotional Staff that you will see out and about towards the beginning of March. You can also purchase the Booklets directly from the site or by calling the office. They are an excellent way of getting a large group of people together to play paintball. People have used them in the past as inter-office challenges between divisions or a cheap way of getting a bunch of mates together for a fun day out. The Booklets cost £39.99 and you get 20 passes with each Booklet. Normally a day’s play at NRG Paintball would cost you £10 each. With the voucher, that works out to be just £2 each plus you get 50 free paintballs for each person!! Un-beatable value in anyone’s eyes!! SITE IMPROVEMENTS Apart from The Village, long term players at NRG will notice a few changes around the place this year… This first thing people notice is that the Mess Tent is now twice the size it used to be. We have doubled the amount of undercover area at NRG Paintball. We have also constructed a second Briefing Room to handle all the reinforcements that arrive at lunch time. In the next couple of weeks, the Saracen that has been sitting quietly in the car park will be driven up into the site and become a major feature. The firing range will be getting a major overhaul in the next few weeks as well to give more for you guys to practise on before you actually have to go out and get shot at for real! Games are constantly changing so that every time you come and play at NRG Paintball, there is a good chance that you will play a scenario than you have never played before! MEMBERSHIPS HAVE ARRIVED!! Yep, it’s true… the memberships have finally arrived!! As we told you in the last edition of ‘The Blag’, there are 4 junior and 4 senior memberships to choose from. For more information on our membership packages, please go to the membership page on our website. We have sold quite a few already and our list of members grows almost daily! So get in there, arrange your NRG Paintball membership now!! People who have already reached a membership level have been sent a letter as have those who are just one game away from receiving one for free. Unfortunately, due to the limitations in our software, we only have records of your previous attendances if you were an organiser. Players at NRG were not recognised by the computer so their record of attendance we don’t have. Make sure when you are up on site that you remember to ask for your ‘regular player’ card which is what you will need to record your attendances if you are not the organiser. For more information on this please call Mel or Jase and they will be only too happy to explain how it all works. A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU… As an organiser, we know how much work you put in to try and organise a group of people to come and play paintball for a day. In the past, for that effort we gave you a free place based on the majority package booked if you brought more than 10 people with you. We have decided that this wasn’t enough so organisers get a whole heap more now. Now if you are an organiser at NRG Paintball and you bring more than 10 people, you will not only receive a free place, but you will also receive… • A marker upgrade to a Silver Piranha. • A goggle upgrade to a pair of X-Ray Thermals. • 1000 free paintballs. • If full payment is received before the game date, each member of your group will receive 100 extra paintballs free. • If you are organising a stag or hen do and bring more than 10 players, you will also get a free case of beer or wine to help the celebrations! So go!! Get out there and organise a group to come and play. Now we are offering you many more reasons to come and play at NRG Paintball.
